New Year Resolve 2012

I cringe at the phrase ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. I think that idea has become so rote and commercial over time. However, I am a big fan of goal-setting and regularly re-evaluating one’s life and pursuits. Tips for Trans Men is young; but, it is not exempt from self-reflection and re-evaluation.

I believe the most important part of making a resolution is having resolve. So, for this New Year, I am stating what I have resolved to do for TfTM. These resolutions come directly out of my experience over the past month of starting TfTM and thus starting to think more critically about myself as a trans man and how to help and connect with other trans men through this site.

TfTM New Year’s Resolve 2012

1. Stop being quiet when I hear people being ignorant and hateful about trans* folks

2. Start networking more with the wonderful and vibrant folks in my community

3. Get involved with some local trans* folks/organizations

4. Read

The really fun part will be checking back in a year later and seeing how far along TfTM and I have come with these goals!
